The reason that
Donate Blood Cambodia came to PUC is it wants to get more blood donation for
recurring people who are in danger and need blood indeed. According to the
lecturer gave the speech to the hall, he had risen the figure up of Ministry of
Health "There is only 40% of patients have got blood donation to save
their live, and other 60% has not got it."It means, 40 of patients got
blood donation among of 100 patients only," he continued. He also emphasized we need much blood for
saving Cambodian, who are being danger.
The last reason needs more donation volunteers. "Least of
Cambodian people take interest on volunteering blood donation. We want the
entire joint to donate 100%", the lecturer said with strong emotion and
hope. "In Western or Europe, people in there, had volunteered 100%."
he added.
Due to the speech of the
expert, people can donate blood as long as they are over 17 years old and have
good health.
On the other hand, there are many advantages of donating
blood. First advantage is we can get blood test, which also confirms about our
health level and confirms which kind of our blood are. Second advantage is we
can release the old blood out of our body. In addition, it is good for all of
men because men never have menses (រដូវ) like women. The last advantage is it does not affect
to our body, for spinal cord (ខួឆ្អឹងខ្នង) restores
blood in our body again. So, after donating blood, new blood will be restored
by spinal cord.
About myself while donating blood.
When talking about blood
and donating, I felt very nervous and scare. I asked my classmate who volunteered
to do it whether it hurt or not. He replied that hurtled nothing. He said that for
saving live, we should do it.
I say honestly, first, I seemed hesitated. However,
after I had listened to the lecturer, I could get many good benefits from it. For
example, I can know about my health, my blood and save life. Therefore, that
was the reason I agreed to donate blood.
After I had filled
application form already, a nurse test my blood and heart pressure. In ma mind,
really wanted to know what was going to happen next and next.
In fact, I want tell
everyone that I am very scared injection pin. When everything finished, it was
the time to donate. A nurse took me to a bed then asked me to sleep on. She
started to make hypertension(សសៃដៃ) of my hand left hand.
Unfortunately, my left hand got so small hypertension that we cannot do it on
left hand. So she said to me we could not do with ya left hand. "Change
for right hand," she said. She decided for right hand.

For donating 300ml of blood, we need 25 or 30 minutes. Maybe, 25 minutes to donate my blood. Other nurse came to me and smiled. "What is your condition right now? You've got be nausea or dizzy (វិលមុខ រឺចង់ក្អួត) or not?" she asked me. "No. It is normal condition for me right now." I answered. "So you can go to eating table for eating something," she told me. Then I left the bed and went straight to eating table. After finished my eating, I went back to my seat
All every blood donation
volunteer was given a big flat of food. There were two bananas, a bottle of
fresh water, a box of cracker, a boiled egg, a can of soft drink and piece of
tissue. Not only these food, but there were also more others, such as a
T-shirt, a can of milk, five packs of noodle, a bottle of pure drinking water.
Another important thing for all of them was a Confirmation Card. It identifies
our kind of blood; date of donating and out of use. If we need blood
immediately, we can use this card by showing to the staffs who work in public
hospital. The last was medicines for supporting the blood.

Finally, this program
finished 12:00 am. The end of donating, there was Khmer traditional dancing for
audiences. The manager of Donate Blood Cambodia also showed the figure of blood
donation volunteer in Pannasastra University. There were 56 students donated
the blood.
I had donated my blood
to them. In addition, what about you?
