The March of Angkathina Tean to Serei Chey Mienlark Pagoda
The Sunday morning 19th, October, 2014, Dr. Kol Pheng
the founder of Pannasastra University of Cambodia had led the students perhaps
10200 to join the march of Kathena Tean to Chhuk District, Kámpot Provice,
which is the west of the country. That
pagoda was 69 kilometers from Phnom Penh and which is in the rural area.
We left the Phnom Penh at 5:30. The amount of the bus were 18. We
the march went to along the street 271, Russian Confederation Street. To go to
Kámpot, we need to travel along the national Road 3. When we arrived the Psa
Borsaet Market, we had breakfast. Everyone got the back of rice included a bottle
of pure drinking water. Then when it's finished, we continoue our travelling.
Maybe 40 minutes after, we arrive the Serei Chey Meanlark. all
every student was standing two lines from the gate to the inside area.
Professor Sambo Manara led us and ask us to sing the songs that he gave us
before the mission started. While the march was moving slowly into pagoda,
everyone sang songs. Then we were greeting much closed by the students of
primary and high school.
The gift, such as monks' clothes, presents, Ipad Mini2, Laptop, and
money.
The Community Work With Children
For my group, the topic for teaching the children was about how to
give Khmer traditional respect. We had shown the bout the five ways to respect
the people in our culture.
For me, I did not teach those children, I was asked to join the
monks accepting the give from us that led by Dr. Kol Pheng, his relatives and
the students.
If we looked to those children, we could define the way they lived,
and the condition of their family. A Teacher among of others told us that, now
day, they had nothing. Especially, the meterails for student in their studying.
In fact, those children were very clever student when we thought them.
Unfortunatly, because of poor, they never get the good living and studying as
students in town. At the end of our teaching them, we gave them some gifte. The
gift were a pack of present [two note books, a pen, a pencil, and a rubber] and
a pack of bread and a bottle of pure drinking water.
Trip to Kep Beach
After we finished our march for the Ankathena Tean and community
work with children, we countinoued our trip to Kep Beach for lunch and enjoyed
the sea view. My entire group had prepared already before the trip. We just
ordered two kinds of seafood. Then we ate and cooked by our self.
